Frequently asked questions
Can I fit the bar myself?
If you have the right skill set, you can fit the Rhino 4×4 products yourself. However, Rhino 4×4 highly recommend fitting them with one of our accredited re-sellers, located across Australia and New Zealand.
Are Rhino 4×4 bars airbag compatible?
Yes, all Rhino 4×4 bars are airbag compatible as well as ADR compliant.
I’m concerned about quality control, as similar bars I’ve seen are made in Asia. Is this where Rhino 4×4 front bars are made?
Most other brands’ bull bars are mass produced, made in Asia, or made by flat folding basic shapes. Whilst this is a cheaper option, we prefer to produce products that also enhance the look of your vehicle. Rhino 4×4 products are designed and tested in Australia and manufactured either here or in Argentina.
My mate told me I can’t fit a Rhino 4×4 bar on my vehicle because my car has radar cruise, is that true?
The Rhino 4×4 bars have been designed to enable use of your factory radar cruise/tech pack and sensors.
Can I fit any winch to the bar?
All Rhino 4×4 bars will fit a Rhino 4×4 12,000lb winch, and the smaller 9,500lb winch. Selected vehicle models will also fit the Rhino 4×4’s larger 12,500lb winch.
I want to fit driving lights and an UHF aerial, where can I attach these to?
The Light Mounting Bar (LMB), often referred as the “little hoop”, is perfect for securing driving lights, light bars or aerials.
Do I have to replace the entire bar if I have an accident and damage it?
No, you don’t. Rhino 4×4 bars are a 3-piece bar, so Rhino 4×4 can just supply the parts you need.
I have a short garage space, does the Rhino4x4 bar add much length to my vehicle?
The Rhino 4×4 bars are a bumper replacement, they don’t add much to the overall length. On average it would be 5-10cm.
I’ve seen other bars which have large hoops, why doesn’t the Rhino4x4 bar have these?
Rhino 4×4 bars have been designed not to look like your typical bull bar. They are sleek and follow the curved lines of your vehicle; having large hoops wouldn’t complement the overall vehicle aesthetic. Hoops also need to crumple when in an accident to be ADR compliant. Thus, they fold back and cause major damage to headlights and the grill. The Rhino 4×4 bars are designed to provide superior protection to the engine vitals and the lower section of the vehicle.
Will I need to upgrade my suspension?
If you are just installing a Rhino 4×4 bar, no suspension upgrade is needed. Rhino 4×4 do however recommend upgrading if you are installing a winch as well.
How much does the Rhino4x4 bull bar weigh?
Removing your factory bumper will deduct 15-20kgs from the weight of the Rhino 4×4 bars, which is approximately 45-60 kgs, depending on the vehicle model.
I love the look of the red shackles! Where do I buy these from?
The Rhino 4×4 signature red shackles are sold through our website and store, or you can also purchase them through one of our accredited resellers!
My factory tow bar hangs really low, it hits on the ground when I am offroad. Will your rear bar be the same?
The Rhino 4×4 rear bar is designed to improve your departure angle. This means that it won’t hit the ground anywhere near as much as your factory bumper/tow bar.
I have rear parking sensors, can I still have these with my Rhino 4×4 rear bar?
Yes, the Rhino 4×4 rear bars retain the use of your factory parking sensors.
Can I use the sliders as a step?
Yes. The Rhino 4×4 sliders have been designed with infills at each door, making it easier to step in and out of the vehicle.
I want to protect my door sills but don’t want steps that hang down, do the Rhino 4×4 sliders hang down?
No, the Rhino 4×4 sliders neatly tuck up near your sills. They are designed to be functional and user friendly.
